Obviously, McCandless was great and therefore had to die ; )

But then, Cormac McCarthy, J.M. Coetzee and Gabriel Garcia Marquéz are great and still alive…

I would like to think it’s our destinies that drive us; ‘good’ or ‘bad’, we’re living out indelible jots and tittles on the time line…

Well, Drumster, it took a visit from you to get me over here. I’m used to you being perpetually gone, see ; ) but it doesn’t matter as long as I’m here, and I’m always glad to be here.

I like this recounting. It reminds me of my summer vacations, same beach, same whiff of freedom, every year. I’d always swear I’d live there one day, live the life I dreamed of. And every time I’d go back to the rat race, I’d get caught back up in it.

One thing I know for sure is what you wrote down, “The day you start getting your answers is the day you stop being a traveler…”

Thanks :) Looks like I will be writing once a year from now after every trip I take… Try smoking a cigarette on the streets of Manhattan and then try one on the Blue ridge parkway and you’ll know the difference ;)
